Transportation planning aims to address current and future transportation, land use, economic development, traffic demand, public safety, health, and social needs. A Tribal government performs transportation planning to analyze existing and future transportation facilities serving the Tribal community under changing conditions to make informed investment decisions. Both short and long term Planning can be done. The TTIP is the Tribe's short-term (less than 4 years) strategy for programs and projects eligible for TTP funding. Tribal governments administering the Tribal Transportation Program (TTP) develop their TTIP by analyzing long-range planning outcomes, results of public involvement activities, and the availability of financial resources. Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 10:00 am to unknown AKST The workshop aims to inform individuals all over Alaska how to better maneuver in the Grant Writing world. We will introduce grant writing basics and share grant terminology. This will be a facilitated workshop with Grants Pro, and the Alaska Local Training & Assistance Program (LTAP) by AK DOT&PF. Introduce basic grant writing technology to participants, enabling them to register on Grants.gov, set up a SAMs Account, and register for a Unique Entity Identification-UEI number. By taking these steps, participants will be ready to research and start a grant application on Grants.gov
Participants will be given a handout that follows the PowerPoint Presentation slides. The handout will contain valuable information about grants available in the State of Alaska and Nationally. |
Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm to unknown AKST On May 23, 2024 at 1 pm the AK TTAP will host part 2 of the dust management webinar by Billy Connor, Director of the Arctic Infrastructure Development Center at UAF. We all curse dust from our roadways. It obscures our vision and makes breathing more difficult. In addition, dust has long term health impacts while increasing the costs of maintaining the road. This two-part webinar will focus on options for reducing dust on roadways. Part 2 is aimed at roads with higher traffic volumes and higher speeds. This will include a discussion of when to pave and paving options. Part 2 will also discuss additional requirements for roadway maintenance. |
Reimbursements for up to $3000.00 are available for local road management agency employees. The funds can reimburse meeting fees, materials, and travel expenses (cannot cover salary). Of course, there are limited funds available each year. The requirement to utilize the funds is sharing the information you gain with your peers. We can help you do that too!

Cina Fisher is a lifelong Alaskan raised in North Pole, Alaska, and the Circle Hot Springs mining region. Cina believes accessible information empowers people to excel at their chosen professions. After serving in the US Army, Cina returned home to a career creating, coordinating, and delivering State and Federal training specific to Alaskans.
Cina's experience includes developing training programs for the US Census Bureau -Remote Alaska Division, the Alaska National Guard, the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, and Alaskan small businesses. During the summer, Cina enjoys the Alaskan wilderness by fishing, hunting, or berry scavenging. Her winters are full of hockey games and seeking warm beaches!

Joshua Hyde has a combined experience of 10 years working with local and international interests in geology, mining, and tourism, along with asset protection in wildland firefighting for BLM, fleet management, and employee skill development. Joshua puts his energy in the office into sharing knowledge and information so that everyone can be sure their efforts are not in vain.
Outside the office, Joshua enjoys time on the rivers and banks of the great state of Alaska, hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, and snow machining into the White Mountains during the winter and ice fishing whenever possible. Joshua began as Training Specialist for LTAP and T2 in March of 2023.
