Highway Safety Statistics
The Alaska Highway Safety Office is responsible for traffic fatality data and the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Transportation Data Services Highway Data Office is responsible for the Highway Analysis System (HAS) which houses all other motor vehicle traffic crash and traffic injury data.
Please note that data requests take time as there is only one Research Analyst in the Highway Safety Office, whose time is not dedicated to researching data requests. Therefore, please allow adequate time for research when making a data request. Last minute requests may not be honored in time for immediate deadlines.
