About half of the book describes the wide variety of historic preservation projects completed as part of the transportation enhancement activities of State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and the FHWA. The booklet demonstrates what can be accomplished by State DOTs and local groups and emphasizes that historic preservation can help revitalize communities and stimulate economic growth. This guide was developed through a cooperative agreement with the National Trust. |
