Preventive Maintenance

Preventive maintenance is a cost effective way to optimize the utility and lifespan of our roads. The periodic application of pavement treatments can retard further deterioration and improve the functional condition of the existing transportation system.

The purpose of this program is to identify, evaluate and prioritize and construct preventative maintenance projects for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). FMATS conducts meetings on an annual basis to identify, evaluate and prioritize proposed preventive maintenance projects for each Federal Fiscal Year.
