myRWIS Overview

The myRWIS feature provides a means to display current observations and camera images for a set of user selected sites. The system will loop through the selected sites, displaying each site for a user defined duration. The sites that you select will be stored as a cookie in your browser, so the next time you visit, it will remember your settings. The system will display RWIS sites with or without cameras.

myRWIS Setup

The following sections describe the way to setup myRWIS to display the sites and camera views you desire.

Setup - Adding a Site/View Top

The first time you visit myRWIS, you will need to setup the sites to display. You can do this using the following steps:

  • In the "Add/Update Site Views" area select a corridor or area from the option list.
  • Then select an RWIS site from the option list.
  • If the site has a camera, you will need to select a camera view from the option list.
  • Press the Add button to add this selection to the Site Name - View Name list.
  • The newly selected site/view should appear int the Site Name - View Name list below. It will be added to the end of the list.

Setup - Change the Site/View List Order Top

To change the order of selected sites:

  • In the "Site Name - View Name" list click on the site you want to move.
  • Then click the Move Up or Move Down button.

Setup - Removing a Site/View from the List Top

To remove a site from the site selection list:

  • In the "Site Name - View Name" list click on the site you want to remove.
  • Then click the Remove button.

Setup - Modifying a Site/View in the List Top

To modify a site from the site selection list:

  • In the "Site Name - View Name" list click on the item you want to modify.
  • In the "Add/Update Site Views" area select the desired corridor or area from the option list.
  • Then select the desired RWIS site from the option list.
  • If the site has a camera, you will need to select a camera view from the option list.
  • Press the Update button to modify the selected item in the Site Name - View Name list.

Setup - Changing the Display Time Top

To select how long to display each site's information, select the desired number of seconds from the option list in the "Display Time Control" area.

myRWIS Run Site/View Display

The following sections describe how to run the myRWIS display.

PlayPlay Top

To start the display of selected sites, press the Play button near the right hand top of the screen. You may also choose to put your browser in full screen mode (F11 for Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome - Safari requires an extension to be installed).

Once you press play, the system will display each of your selected sites for the duration you selected. After a couple of seconds, the display controls at the top right of the screen and the mouse pointer will fade away. You can make them reappear by moving your mouse.

PausePause Top

Press the Pause button at any time while the display is running to remain on the current site observations. Pressing the Play button will resume the loop through the sites.

PreviousPrevious Top

When myRWIS is in the Play or Pause mode, you can backup to the prior site by pressing the Previous button.

NextNext Top

When myRWIS is in the Play or Pause mode, you can advance to the next site by pressing the Next button.

Stop/SetupStop/Setup Top

When myRWIS is in the Play or Pause mode, you can stop the display and enter the setup mode by pressing the Stop/Setup button.

CloseClose Top

To close the myRWIS display, you can press the Close button at any time. A confirmation dialog will appear before myRWIS closes.
