AMHS Announces 50th Anniversary Event in Bellingham, Wash.

(JUNEAU, Alaska) – The Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) today announced that the system will host a 50th Anniversary celebration September 14 at the Bellingham Terminal in Bellingham, Wash.

The M/V Kennicott will be in port for an open house where visitors may tour the bridge, dine onboard, and visit the gift shop to purchase 50th anniversary memorabilia. Representatives of communities visited by the ferry will be in the terminal to share with guests all there is to do in Alaska. At noon, a group photo of all in attendance will recreate the original photo taken during the opening of the Bellingham Terminal. And, of course, there will be cake and activities for the kids too.

To learn more about this community event and other events planned for the AMHS 50th Anniversary, please visit AMHS online at FerryAlaska.com/50years.
