Fairbanks International Airport Welcomes Summer Seasonal Airlines

(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) –The Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is pleased to announce summer seasonal airline passenger service has commenced. The seasonal carriers serving FAI include scheduled service by United, Frontier, Air North, Condor and Delta; and charter service by Japan Airlines and Korean Air. These carriers are in addition to year round service by Alaska Airlines and Era. These flights will bring thousands of visitors to Alaska from North America, Europe, and Asia. 

"The airport is excited to welcome both our international and domestic seasonal air carriers and we look forward to another successful season," said Angie Spear, Division Operations Manager for Fairbanks International Airport, “Combined with our incumbent carriers Alaska and Era we are pleased to offer residents and visitors alike numerous flight options and city pairs.”

The Alaska International Airport System (AIAS) - comprised of Ted Stevens Anchorage and Fairbanks International Airports - is home to over 30 international and domestic airlines providing passenger and cargo service throughout Alaska, the United States, Europe, and Asia. AIAS is an extraordinary economic engine; serving nearly 5 million passengers per year and accounting for 1 in 10 jobs in Anchorage and 1 in 20 jobs in Fairbanks. The purpose of AIAS is "To Keep Alaska Flying and Thriving."

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) oversees 254 airports, 11 ferries serving 34 communities, 5,700 miles of highway and 660 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of DOT&PF is to “Get Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
