Avalanche Closure Notification

(Anchorage, Alaska) – There will be intermittent closures for avalanche hazard reduction work today on the Seward Highway in multiple locations:

  • Bird Point Area (near mileposts 95-100) 2-3pm
  • Summit Lake Area (near milepost 44) 2-3pm
  • Kenai Lake Area (near milepost 21) 3-5pm

Motorists should expect delays of up to 20-45 minutes between 2:00PM and 5:00PM. 

Updates will be posted on the 511 system.  511.alaska.gov
