Alaska Aviation Careers and Airport Job Fair

(Anchorage, Alaska) —The Alaska Aviation Careers and Airport Job Fair will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the North Terminal of Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, 4600 Postmark Road, Anchorage, AK  99502.  There is no fee to attend, and parking at the North Terminal Lot is free to those who attend the event.
The Alaska Aviation Careers and Airport Job Fair is a collaborative effort between the Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Education program, Alaska Department of Labor, and the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.  It is expected to showcase approximately 400 available seasonal, full time and part time jobs at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. The job fair will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

The Alaska Aviation Careers portion of the event will showcase seminars in career opportunities in aviation.  Speakers will begin at 11 a.m and will end at 2 p.m.  "It's our goal to educate people about the variety of careers available and their respective education requirements.  From pilot to air traffic control, airport management to police and fire, there are great prospects for lifetime careers in aviation related fields," said Linda Bustamante, spokeswoman for DOT&PF Statewide Aviation. 

The Alaska International Airport System (AIAS) - comprised of Ted Stevens Anchorage and Fairbanks International Airports - is home to over 30 international and domestic airlines providing passenger and cargo service throughout Alaska, the United States, Europe, and Asia. AIAS is an extraordinary economic engine; serving nearly 6 million passengers per year and accounting for 1 in 10 jobs in Anchorage and 1 in 20 jobs in Fairbanks.  The purpose of AIAS is "To Keep Alaska Flying and Thriving."

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) oversees 254 airports, 11 ferries serving 33 communities, 5,700 miles of highway and 660 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of ADOT&PF is to “Get Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
