Above-ground components of the existing lighting system will be removed and other components below 2 inches will be abandoned in place, while new lighting components will be installed 2 feet from the existing trench to be closer to runway, taxiways, apron and taxilane. Threshold lights will also be upgraded. Several areas will be patched with new asphalt to repair conduit crossings at affected locations on taxiways and taxilane. Work inside the electrical enclosure equipment building will include replacement of the electric heater and radio controller.
