(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) - After a 4.5 percent increase in passenger growth in the summer of 2018, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) expects the summer growth trend to continue in 2019.
ANC is projecting a 6 percent increase in aircraft seat capacity this summer season, for an additional 68,000 passenger seats from the 2018 summer season. Most of these seats will be filled by tourists seeking to experience Alaska. This growth in tourist numbers will add millions to the state’s economy.
“We’re excited that after last summer’s growth, the summer of 2019 is looking strong,” said Jim Szczesniak, Airport Manager. “Governor Dunleavy is driving the message that Alaska is open for business and ANC is working hard to do our part and provide the visitors that help drive growth in Alaska’s tourism industry.”
