Youth groups are recognized as young people ages 18 years of age or younger, that are properly chaperoned. Boy scouts, girl scouts, church groups, school groups, and little league teams are typical examples of eligible youth groups.
Youth groups may qualify for a 50% discount which applies only to passenger fares. To qualify, a group must consist of at least 8 youths and 1 adult chaperone. Larger groups must provide at least 1 chaperone for every 16 youths. Youth groups may travel at the group rate on any vessel and between any ports, subject to availability as determined by the Youth Group Coordinator.

Completed group rosters must be submitted to the Youth Group Coordinator at the Alaska Marine Highway Juneau office at least three working days prior to departure. Large groups of 20 or more travelers should allow additional time for approval and processing of reservations. Name changes will be allowed until time of sailing only if ticket value does not change. No refunds will be allowed for changes made within 48 hours of sailing.
